42　扉のある世界

閉じた扉が好きです。

扉は「ここから先は、今いる場所とは違う世界になるよ」と教えてくれる印。
その向こう側には、どんな世界があってもいいと思います。

鏡も、扉の一種だと思っています。
壁なのに、向こう側に入れそうだから。
オルゴールの箱や、ロケットペンダントも。
本にも「扉」があります。
たった一枚の紙の向こうに、物語の世界があるなんて、素敵なことだと思います。

先日のイベントでは赤い扉を店内に置いていました。
扉がひとつあるだけで、そこには別の世界があるような気がしました。

服にも、少し似たところがあるかもしれません。

I love closed doors.

To me, a door is a sign that says, “Beyond here lies a world different from the one you're in now.”
And I like to imagine that absolutely any kind of world could exist on the other side.

I think mirrors are a kind of door, too.
Because even though they're on a wall, they make me feel as if I could step through to the other side.
Music boxes and lockets, too.
Even books have doors.
I think it's wonderful that an entire world of stories can exist just beyond a single page.

At our recent event, we placed a red door inside the store.
Just having a door there made it feel as though another world existed beyond it.

Perhaps clothing has something in common with doors, too.
